The Flash Lite Animated Cartooon sample shows the two optimization techniques you can use to produce animation and cartoons in Flash Lite. By default, Flash is a vector graphics program; however, its ability to optimize raster graphics will on occasion make for a better solution on slower processors such as mobile handsets.

The sample shows two comparisons of the same animation, one as a vector format and the other as a raster format. Performance can be measured by an estimated frame per second reading.

The source file is composed of three slides. The first allows the user to view the vector animation or the raster animation. There are also slides for each animation that animate six MovieClips across the stage repeatedly. A frame per second MovieClip is also included and displays an estimated frame per second readout at the top of the application.
